I am Marice Tone Loc I am a german soldier. We are in a war with many countries. We have an alliance with Italy and Austria-hungary.
I am 16 years of age. I know that sounds bad but they are sending younger to war. Germany has been known to have the strongest navy, but we are competing that with britain. Let me tell you how Germany got into the war. First there was the assassination in sarajevo. Germany declared was with france because they wouldn't stay out of our fight. Britain and france were allies so it was known that we were going to fight them to. we also declared was with Russia. We came up with this plan called the shifflin plan. the plan is to go after russia and go though another country to get to france. The plan didn't work out so good. Being in a war is hard, you have to accept the fact that you could die anytime of any day.
Fighting in the war is hard. i would have never thought that at 16 years old i would be killing people for my country. we live in trenches it was terible. getting shot at all day while you are in a ditch is not as fun as it sounds. You have to be aware of your suroundings at all times.

As you can see we were cramped in tight spaces.
Its was yesterday when i saw somthing i never thought i would see. It was Christmas eve and our generals called a Christmas truce!
we all got out of the trenches and we stoped fighting. we exchanged chocholate and some food. We evan played some soccer. I thought i would ave been home for Christmas with my family. I was happy to get away from fighting the war for a little while. When we continued fighting the next day it was hard for me because i had become friends with the people i was fighting. The picture below is us making a truse for Christmas.
We fought for the longest time. At the end of the war we were made as the bad guys. there was a treaty called the Treaty of Versaillies and they made Germany sign it. We were forced to take blame for te war. We were forced to pay huge reparations.The reparation was not only to be paid for destruction of land, but also pensions to the wives and families of the soldiers that were killed in the war. The reparations would cost us over 30 billion dollars. The treaty would limit the size of our once feared army. The treaty stripped us of our overseas colonies. We had to sign the treaty because we had no other choise, but resentment for the treaty would posion the inernational climate for 20 years and help spark an evan deadlier world war. Evan though germany would have to pay for the war in so happy that i get to go home.
When i got home my mom ran up to me and started crying and telling me how much she missed me. the next thing i know my little sister who is about 9 years old now was tackling me to the ground. i was so happy to be home with my family. I never wanted to leave home again and i never did. I was so happy to go back to a normal life. Waking up and doing my chores. getting to bed everynight at a great time. Yea this was the life and i would never give it up for anything in the world.
